Michelle attended the University of Dayton on a full academic scholarship earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Accounting, English and Philosophy. She then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law, again receiving an academic scholarship.
Michelle began her legal career working for the Rural Legal Aid Society of Clark and Champaign Counties before eventually accepting a Magistrate position in Montgomery County. She has been in private practice since leaving the Court.
In 2019, Michelle became a Ohio State Bar Association Family Relations Law Specialist.
