Spousal Support
Ohio Revised Code Section 3105.18 governs the award of spousal support, formerly known as alimony, in the state of Ohio. Spousal support is awarded from the higher earning spouse to the lower earning spouse. When making a spousal support award, the court considers income, earning ability, age, physical, mental and emotional condition, education of one party, duration of the marriage and many other factors.
