Ohio Revised Code Section 3105.18 governs the award of spousal support, formerly known as alimony, in the state of Ohio. Spousal support is awarded from the higher earning spouse to the lower earning spouse. When making a spousal support award, the court considers income, earning ability, age, physical, mental and emotional condition, education of one party, duration of the marriage and many other factors.
As there is no statewide spousal support calculation, awards can often vary between counties. At Michelle M. Maciorowski Law, LLC, we can help you understand how your jurisdiction calculates spousal support to ensure you have realistic expectations.
Taxation of Spousal Support
